Montréal, September 1 2016 - The Industrial Workers Union and Workers (SITT-IWW Montreal) this morning held a share of visibility at the Montreal World Trade Centre. While the office of the Ministry of the Economy, of Science and Innovation was busy, a banner was displayed in the main hall. The slogan? "Austerity and precariousness, not inevitable! We must fight and fight back ”.

SITT-IWW Montreal denounces growing insecurity, hours that are always too long and wages that force us into debt. For Marie-Lee Beausoleil, union member, " Reality, the place where we are now is populated by economically powerful people, rich in our poverty. These people made a fortune on the workers who run their factories, their stores, their warehouses, their state, their industries. And when it's no longer their business, they throw us like common waste and relocate their businesses where they can exploit their employees even more ”.

Labor Day is too often seen as a statutory holiday among so many others. The SITT-IWW Montreal reminds rather that this day is a patronal feast and that the earnings are not offered by the bosses, but that they are rather the fruit of the workers' struggle. For Morgane Mary-Pouliot, "Call it austerity, insecurity, poverty, holding or any other name, the class struggle remains the class struggle! ».

The Union would like to highlight the unionization of employees of the Frite Alors restaurant! Rachel earlier this week. For this purpose, see media coverage : http://affaires.lapresse.ca/…/01-5015383-frite-alors-des-em…
