Joint Declaration for inclusive and antiracist community in Saguenay

Horror and stupor are insufficient words to express our disgust at the hate crime perpetrated on Saturday afternoon at the location of the Chicoutimi Mosque. We who campaign daily to break down these prejudiced borders, of violence, d’oppression, of privilege and ignorance, we are saddened by this new manifestation of a system of oppression - racism - which is very present in our country. While we see in this act the continuation of a hate propaganda campaign by a racist group in the region, we also protest against much more widespread and trivialized forms of racism in our environment. In the shadow of the stupid "welcoming city" marketing ideas (without action) and vain quests for police journalism from our mainstream media, we issue this statement to share : courage is born hope, the hope of defeating and defeating all forms of oppression. It's a call to action.
